The Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) is the professional association of individuals responsible for generating philanthropic support for a wide variety of nonprofit, charitable organizations. Founded in 1960, AFP advances philanthropy through its more than 30,000 members in 227 chapters throughout the world. 

The Memphis Chapter was founded in 1985 and currently represents over 150 members.

Aug 11 - Development Officer
The experienced Development Officer will join a collaborative team that works in a fast paced environment. Requires strong written and verbal communication skills and be comfortable with interacting with donors and the general public. The DO is responsible for planning and executing strategies and tactics to achieve the NCRM’s Annual Giving revenue and growth goals. The officer will be responsible for the annual fund focusing on individual donots (year-end and other mailings/email/social media solicitations) and the grant process (research, timelines, online and written proposals, and reporting) with input from the Interpretation, Collections & Education Department. The officer will research and identify potential funders aligned with Museum initiatives, and assist with the solicitation strategy. The position assists the Chief Development Officer and Development team with the annual Freedom Award fundraising events, and other museum-wide events as assigned. He or she develops and nurtures donor relationships, as well as monitors actual performance to ensure income goals are achieved. Serves as the staff liaison with the Emerging Leaders Committee. Manages and writes the quarterly donor newsletter, @The Lorraine. Aug 3 - Development Coordinator
Position Reporting to the President and CEO, the Development Coordinator assists with planning and maintaining a comprehensive private and public sector fund-raising program on behalf of RISE Foundation, Inc. The coordinator supports the efforts of the Board of Directors development committee. Coordinates special events. Maintains donor files via fundraising software (currently E-Tapestry – a Blackbaud product). Key Responsibilities • Aggressively seek new corporate, foundation, individual funding sources and maintains relationships with current and past donors. Represents organization in meeting with potential funding sources. • Implement a comprehensive development program and appropriate marketing strategies. Assist with updating programs and strategies as required. • Actively work with board members to engage them in major gift cultivation, solicitation and stewardship efforts. • Collaborate with the Chief Operations Officer and staff members to develop and implement RISE’s financial and program strategies. • Prepare supporting documentation for grants and contracts. Gather supporting documentation for reports as assigned. • Coordinate all aspects of special events for the agency including, but not limited to, communications, donations, reservations, payments, etc. • Maintain donor database and fundraising software (currently Raiser’s Edge) accurately. Draft and mail correspondence. • Monitor all donor information and provide written statistical analysis as it relates to donor giving and the development program. Develop related reports. • Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the company's discretion. Qualifications Passion for RISE’s unique mission and work.
