The University of memphis is seeking a Director of Development for the College of Communication & Fine Arts (CCFA) to join our fundraising team. Located on a beautiful campus in the heart of one of the South's largest cities, the University of Memphis is one of just three research universities in Tennessee. Through its thirteen colleges and schools, the University offers undergraduate, graduate, doctoral, and professional degree programs to its more than 21,000 students.

The College of Communication & Fine Arts is home to the Rudi E. Scheidt School of Music and the departments of Architecture, Art, Communication, Journalism & Strategic Media, and Theatre & Dance. Also part of the college's academic community are the Art Museum of the University of Memphis, the Martha & Robert Fogelman Gallery of Contemporary Art, the Center for Sustainable Design, and the Institute of Egyptian Art & Archaeology. In October 2017, the University broke ground on the new $40M Scheidt Family Music Center after a successful $10M campaign to secure private gifts that were matched with $30M in state funds.

As a major gift officer, the Director of Development is primarily responsible for identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding donors in support of the College, with a focus on gifts of $25,000 and above. The Director will actively manage a portfolio of 100-125 donors and prospects, execute a minimum of 95 personal visits, and deliver 18-24 written proposals annually.

The position offers a competitive salary and excellent benefits in a collaborative, supportive environment within the 30-person Office of University Development. Bachelor's degree is required with a master's degree preferred. Five years of related experience. Higher education experience, in particular advancement experience, is preferred.
