This position is responsible for developing and implementing programs that will engage students, alumni and parents with Rhodes College. Represent the College at campus and Rhodes Chapter events. Works with the Director of Alumni Relations to develop the Rhodes Career Network. Serves as primary representative from the Alumni Relations Office working in collaboration with Career Services and Rhodes volunteers at campus programming. Develops and implements programs for students and alumni that will result in Rhodes community members learning of the services of the office by creating opportunities for participation in networking events as well as develop a better understanding of how the College functions with particular emphasis on the role of alumni in supporting the institution. Provide logistical support and leadership in assisting the Alumni Association Executive Board in developing efforts geared towards strengthening and engaging more alumni through vocational affinity groups, the Alumni-Student Career Advisor Program, and other special projects. Monitors career postings on the online alumni community. Initiates contact with alumni who submit career postings. Provides leadership and direction for alumni and admission marketing efforts and programming specifically serving as the leader of the legacy recruiting program, including the gifts, planning and marketing and events that engage alumni and their families. This position requires flexibility to travel and work occasional weekends and evenings.
Bachelor's degree required. Bachelor's Degree from Rhodes College or a liberal arts college highly preferred. Must have a minimum of three years demonstrated successful program management skills with preference given to local candidates and those who have experience building partnerships with corporations creating opportunities for networking and career development for students and alumni. Demonstrated experience in making presentations and facilitating group discussions. Must exhibit professionalism and diplomacy in working effectively with diverse constituencies and demonstrate self-confidence and poise. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, over the phone, via email and in person. Must have the ability to prioritize, organize and manage multiple projects. Ability to learn specialized constituent management software including Raisers Edge. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office.
