Director of Development
Agape is seeking a dynamic, motivated and assertive Director of Development. The Director of Development leads a team in the development/volunteerism/communications activities of Agape. In partnership with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), this position is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing all of Agape’s fundraising efforts including; major gifts, annual fund, planned giving, special events, and capital campaigns. The Director of Development will help forge new relationships to increase Agape’s visibility, impact, and financial resources. The Director of Development will also participate in the development design and implement a comprehensive plan for developing key external alliances by cultivating individual and philanthropic support.
Education & Experience Required:
Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Social Work or a related degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, or abilities for this position with at least 3 years of relevant professional experience in development, sales, communications or other equivalent. Demonstrated success in a development capacity, managing and forging relationships with multiple donor sources, including Foundations, and grant writing experience. Desired candidate has demonstrated success in marketing, public relations, and extensive fundraising experience, with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders. High energy and passion for the Agape mission, vision and values is required. Candidate should possess outstanding organizational and management skills, excellent communication skills - both written and oral. A successful candidate will: effectively manage multiple tasks and projects; effectively serve as a liaison between the organization and employees; results-oriented. Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office is required. Will be required to work a flexible schedule and be available as needed some evenings and weekends. Candidate must be willing to engage in Agape’s Performance Quality and Improvement (also known as Continuous Quality Improvement) standards of quality & excellence.
