St. Georges Independent School seeks a passionate, entrepreneurial, and hard-working individual who is energized by work with families to serve as Assistant Director of Advancement, beginning immediately.  Type: Salary commensurate with positions at MAIS consortium schools

Duration: Annual Letter of Agreement

Required:

  • A bachelor's degree and/or five years of professional fundraising experience in a non-profit environment
  • A professional performance history of leveraging AFP, CASE, and industry standards/best practices in relation to solicitation, stewardship, and honoring donor intent
  • A willingness to work limited evenings, early mornings, and weekends, such as evening student performances and sporting events, alumni reunions, and volunteer board/council meetings
  • The ability to travel among three campuses, to off-campus events, and to donor visits

Preferred:

  • Proficient use and understanding of a multi-user, relational database
  • Proficient use and understanding of routine gift entry processes, as well as background in creating queries from a centralized database using segmented donor demographic information
  • A belief in the power and joy resulting from helping donors reach their philanthropic goals through relationships and education

 Responsibilities:

  • The Assistant Director will be the primary driver for the St. George’s Fund with direct oversight and annual collections of almost $2 million in annual giving. The primary responsibility is to ambitiously increase the annual fund each year through community education, solicitations that broaden participation, and facilitating movement upward through the annual fund donor societies.
  • The Assistant Director will be a gifted story teller who will manage his/her own prospect pool of 250-300 donor relationships. He/she will be the administrator for annual fund leadership giving societies (gifts of $1,000 and up).
  • The Assistant Director will administer and lead a stewardship program and activities that educate constituents about the power of giving, retain donors, yield new donors, and grow constituent giving.
  • Currently, the Assistant Director will administer and lead the alumni programs of the school with the goal to connect alumni to each other through the school community. This includes alumni communications, offering and organizing alumni events, and managing the Alumni Council. When the strategic plan is realized, the Assistant Director will become the supervisor of a stand-alone alumni office in the expansion of the Advancement Department.
  • The Assistant Director will collaboratively assist with routine Advancement operations and volunteer management by possessing a vigorous work ethic and sharing strong organization skills, creativity, and positivity for the Advancement Department in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and goal-oriented environment. 
  • The Assistant Director will join the Advancement Department team in the early stages of a new comprehensive capital campaign for endowment and facility changes.

Physical Requirements:     Regularly sit, turn, bend, reach, walk, talk, hear, and interact with campus visitors as well as others who telephone.
