This position leads and manages a team responsible for Advancement data acquisition, data management and data integrity, Advancement reporting and business process analysis, and prospect research and identification. Manage and maintain a comprehensive information resource, ensuring consistency and integrity of data; oversees collection and reporting of complex, related information. Interprets data, including statistical values, provides advice and consultation regarding implications; may make recommendations for adjustments. Conducts needs assessments, designs and creates Advancement database and other tools, and participates in testing and implementing of new applications and/ or enhancements and modification to existing Advancement systems. Implements new business intelligence toolsets, including donor analytics dashboards and other server-based business intelligence products. Provides assistance and training to users. Serves as a member of the campus-wide Data Group and works closely with IT and Data Services. This position requires flexibility to work occasional weekends and evenings.
Bachelor's degree required. This position requires five to seven years of experience in advancement services, information management, data analytics, preferably in a higher education or non-profit environment; supervisory experience preferred; knowledge of Salesforce software desirable; proficiency in use of word-processing and database management software, reporting, forecasting (e.g. SPSS, SAS) and analytics tools such as Tableau, Wave, or Power BI work in Windows environment such as Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint; Excellent communication skills; Knowledge of bookkeeping, fund accounting and standard business practices; Knowledge of basic tax law as applied to charitable contributions and estate planning instruments; Must possess the ability to work independently, under deadline pressure and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
